Get a feel for India
Throughout my childhood I have visited India at least 4 times. This country is so rich in culture, diversity and many regional differences that it is difficult to generalise it down to information about this whole Country. I have visited Tamil Nadu and Andra Pradesh but there are 29 states so it may be a few more years until I can say everything about this country. Kerala, Goa, Rajasthan are definitely on my list.

Language – Along with the official languages Hindi and English , 22 other languages spoken within various regions.
CurrencyIndian Rupee (INR)
Safety – Not impossible to travel solo as a female. However, I would not recommend it. Also, this largely depends on the fact that I look like a local and am a woman of colour thus the fact that I am from the western world is not immediately obvious. I would get treated differently there in comparison to a white lady travelling through India.
In general, petty theft is common. Don’t be naïve. Don’t carry many valuables.

Traveling in groups is much safer and makes it a more fun experience to explore this beautiful country.
